serendipiteous: Passing on the spirit..

This community being dead makes me sad because Delhi is such an incredible city with amazing spirit!

Cheers to _53 for trying a hand at spirit revival!!

_53: (no subject)

Since this community is pretty much dead / dying, I hereby propose today to be random Delhi pic day.

I shall start with this shot taken with my RAZR from the 11th floor of the Modi / Hemkunt Tower in Nehru Place, looking out over part of Kalkaji and Greater Kailash I.

briansue: Travel by train and bus

Hello everyone. I'm an American living in India for a bit over 3 months. Currently I'm working with an NGO in a village about an hour and a half north west of New Delhi. I'll be here for a few more weeks and then plan to head north to Daramsala. I want to take a bus, but I really don't think I can get into the city ahead of time to buy a ticket. Can I book a ticket online? As far as I can tell, I can't. If I wait until a couple of days before I leave (early June) will there still be tickets left?

My other question is about the train. I'm really happy I can just book e-tickets, but I can't figure out the code for Shimla. The one listed in Trains at a Glance is not on the website. The website lists something very similar (SHIMILIAGUDA(SMLG) instead of SHIMLA (SML) like in the book) but I don't want to book a ticket to the wrong place!

Thanks for any help. I'm loving India (minus the heat!) and already am planning my next trip here.

tigereyed_hash: 'Dilli bas' by Rabbi Shergill OST Delhi Heights

What amazing Delhi worship!! Great song... heard it on the radio??

lyrics under the cutCollapse )

Lyrics thanks to a poster here

I'm just happy to have a Delhi song, you know? After all the 'Bambai Nagariya' and 'Amchi Mumbai'-type songs for Mumbai. Does anyone know of Delhi songs other than 'Dilli ki sardi'?!
